What to Expect
Here's what we're building toward.
Tournaments
Competitive brackets across your favorite titles — CS2, Valheim, Minecraft survival challenges, and more. Cash prizes, gear giveaways, and serious bragging rights.
Community
DustBowl LAN events aren't just tournaments — they're meetups. Bring your crew, make new ones. Food, drinks, and a venue where everyone gets the references.
Local & Growing
Starting in Hickory, NC and expanding across western NC. We're talking to venues now. If you want to host or sponsor an event, reach out — we build these together.
The Infrastructure
What DustBowl Brings to the LAN
We've run game servers for a decade. We point that same infrastructure at the room you're sitting in.
Event Server Hosting
Spun-up game servers, mod packs, and configs ready before doors open. Custom rule sets, whitelist control, and admin tools — the same panel that runs our community servers, dialed in for the event.
Tournament Support
Brackets, seeding, match scheduling, and live scoring. We handle the format so organizers and players can focus on the games — single-elim, round-robin, or whatever the title calls for.
Low-Latency Local Play
On a LAN, the server can live in the same room. That means single-digit ping, no internet bottleneck, and the kind of crisp, lag-free matches that online play just can't match.
BYOC Friendly
Bring Your Own Computer. Haul your rig, plug into the network, and play. We sort the power, the switches, and the seating map — you bring the setup you already love.
We're still locking in venues and dates — but the hosting backbone behind these events is the same infrastructure we've run for our community for over a decade. That part is proven.

Where We're Headed
The Roadmap
Here's where we are and where we're going.

NowBuilding our online community, game servers live, Discord active. The foundation is here — people are playing, the infrastructure is proven.
-
Phase 2 — Venue Scouting
Q3 2026Evaluating venues in the Hickory–Lenoir–Morganton area. Target: 50–100 person capacity, parking, solid Wi-Fi backbone.
-
Phase 3 — First Event
Q4 2026 / Early 2027First DustBowl LAN — invite-only beta event, ~30 attendees, 2–3 game titles, small prizes. Proof of concept before we scale up.

For Organizers
Running your own LAN? Let us handle the servers.
Whether it's a clan meetup, a college esports night, or a charity tournament, the hard part is rarely the people — it's the infrastructure. That's our specialty. Lean on the same hosting, mod management, and admin tooling we run for our own community, and put the technical headaches on us.

- Tournament brackets, seeding, and match scheduling handled for you
- Honest advice from a team that's been running game infrastructure for a decade

FAQ
Questions, answered
Everything we get asked about the LAN plans, straight up.
When is the first DustBowl LAN event?
We're still in the venue-scouting phase. Our roadmap targets an invite-only beta event in late 2026 or early 2027, with public events to follow. Join the event list and you'll be the first to know the moment a date is locked in.
Where will the events be held?
We're based in Hickory, North Carolina, and scouting venues across the Hickory–Lenoir–Morganton area. The goal is a 50–100 person space with solid parking and a reliable network backbone, expanding across western NC from there.
What is BYOC and do I need to bring my own PC?
BYOC means "Bring Your Own Computer." For most LAN events you'll bring your own rig, plug into our network, and play. We handle the power, switches, and seating map — you bring the setup you already love. We'll always spell out exactly what to bring before each event.
What games will you run?
We're planning brackets and casual play across titles like CS2, Valheim, Minecraft, Rocket League, and more. The final lineup depends on the event and what the community wants — tell us your pick through the contact form and it shapes the list.
Why play on a LAN instead of online?
On a LAN, the game server can live in the same room as the players. That means single-digit ping, no internet bottleneck, and matches that feel instant — plus the energy of actually being there with your crew. It's gaming the way it was meant to be.
Can I host my own event using DustBowl's servers?
Absolutely. If you're running a clan meetup, college esports night, or charity tournament, we can provide configured game servers, mod and whitelist management, and bracket tooling so you can focus on the people. Reach out through the contact form and tell us what you're planning.
