NMRiH Server Admin Management
Manage your NMRiH server with RCON commands and SourceMod admin flags — including Steam ID setup, common commands, and RCON security.
NMRiH Server Admin Management
NMRiH uses the Source engine's RCON system for basic remote administration and SourceMod for full in-game admin controls. Both approaches are independent — you can use either or both.
RCON Access
Set your RCON password in nmrih/cfg/server.cfg:
rcon_password "YourStrongPassword"
Leave blank (rcon_password "") to disable RCON entirely. A blank password does not mean "passwordless access" — it disables RCON completely.
To use RCON from in-game, connect to your server and open the console:
rcon_password "YourStrongPassword"
rcon status
rcon changelevel nmo_broadway
RCON Security Warning
TCP 27015 (the RCON port) sends your password and all commands as plaintext. Do not expose TCP 27015 to the internet without a strong, unique password. If possible, restrict TCP 27015 at the firewall to your own IP only, or use SSH tunneling instead of opening the port publicly.

SourceMod Admin Setup
SourceMod provides Steam ID-based admin access with granular permissions. Install SourceMod first (see the SourceMod guide), then edit:
nmrih/addons/sourcemod/configs/admins_simple.ini
Add one line per admin:
"STEAM_0:0:12345678" "99:z"
Format: "STEAM_ID" "IMMUNITY:FLAGS"
- Steam ID: use the legacy format
STEAM_0:X:XXXXXXX. Find it by runningstatusin the console while the player is connected. - Immunity (
99): higher number overrides lower;99is the standard full-admin immunity level. - Flags:
zgrants root access (all permissions). For limited roles, use specific flag letters:b(kick),d(ban),g(change map),h(change cvars).
Apply changes without restarting:
sm_reloadadmins
Finding a Player's Steam ID
While a player is connected, run status in the server console:
# userid name uniqueid connected ping
# 12 "PlayerName" STEAM_0:1:87654321 05:32 44
Copy the full STEAM_0:X:XXXXXXX string for use in admins_simple.ini.
In-Game SourceMod Commands
SourceMod admins can use these commands in chat or console:
sm_kick "playername"
sm_ban "#userid" 60 "Reason" // 60 minutes; 0 = permanent
sm_changelevel nmo_broadway
sm_say "Server restarting in 5 minutes"
sm_map nms_northway
