Setting Up Admins
Create the file HarshDoorstop/Saved/Config/Admins.cfg in your server install directory. This file does not exist by default — you must create it.
Add one SteamID64 per line. No brackets, labels, or formatting — just the 17-digit number:
76561198012345678
76561198087654321
76561197990123456
The server reads this file on startup. To add or remove admins, edit the file and restart the server.
Finding a SteamID64
SteamID64 is a 17-digit number unique to each Steam account. To find yours or another player's:
- Visit steamidfinder.com and enter a Steam profile URL.
- Alternatively, check the server logs — Steam64 IDs are printed when players connect.
In-Game Admin Console
Players listed in Admins.cfg can run admin commands from the in-game console. Open the console with the backtick key (`) and prefix every command with admin:
admin servertravel AAS-Risala
admin kick PlayerName
admin ban 76561198012345678
admin say "Server restarting in 5 minutes"
Admin Command Reference
| Command | Example | Description |
|---|---|---|
admin servertravel |
admin servertravel AAS-Carentan |
Change map immediately |
admin changelevel |
admin changelevel AAS-Khafji |
Alternate map change command |
admin kick |
admin kick PlayerName |
Kick a player by name |
admin ban |
admin ban 76561198012345678 |
Ban a player by SteamID64 |
admin say |
admin say "Good game" |
Broadcast message to all players |
Commands without the admin prefix will be rejected even if you are listed as an admin.
RCON Remote Administration
RCON lets you run the same admin commands remotely without being in-game.
Configuring RCON in Game.ini
Edit HarshDoorstop/Saved/Config/WindowsServer/Game.ini (or LinuxServer/Game.ini on Linux):
[/Script/RCON.RCONServerSystem]
bEnabled=True
ListenPort=7779
Password="YourRCONPassword"
MaxActiveConnections=5
MaxAuthAttempts=3
Ensure TCP port 7779 is open in your firewall. See Operation: Harsh Doorstop Server Port Forwarding.
Connecting with an RCON Client
Any Source-compatible RCON client works. Examples:
# rcon-cli
rcon -a yourserverip:7779 -p YourRCONPassword
# mcrcon
mcrcon -H yourserverip -P 7779 -p YourRCONPassword
Once connected, RCON commands are identical to in-game admin commands but without the admin prefix (some clients vary — check the RCON client's documentation).
Map Rotation with Mapcycle.cfg
Create HarshDoorstop/Saved/Config/Mapcycle.cfg with one map name per line:
AAS-Carentan
AAS-MonteCassino
AAS-OmahaBeach
AAS-LamDong
AAS-Risala
The server advances through this list after each match and loops back to the start. Unlike Game.ini, Mapcycle.cfg does not reset on server restart — it is safe to configure here.
