SCP: Secret Laboratory Server Configuration

SCP:SL uses two primary config files, located under:

~/.config/SCP Secret Laboratory/config/[PORT]/
  config_gameplay.txt       ← Server settings, gameplay rules
  config_remoteadmin.txt    ← Admin whitelist and permissions

These files are generated on first server launch. Stop the server before editing.

config_gameplay.txt — Key Settings

Finding SteamID64: Use steamidfinder.com or steamid.io to convert a Steam profile URL to SteamID64.

Whitelist Mode

To restrict the server to approved players only:

# config_gameplay.txt
enable_white_list: true

Then list allowed Steam IDs in a separate whitelist file:

~/.config/SCP Secret Laboratory/config/[PORT]/white_list.txt

One SteamID64 per line:

76561198012345678
76561198087654321

Pastebin Server Info

The serverinfo_pastebin_id field links to a Pastebin document shown to players in-game as your server's description. Without this:

• Players see a blank info panel
• Your server appears less professional in the browser

Create your Pastebin with server rules, Discord link, and description, then paste only the document ID (not the full URL):

Applying Config Changes

Config changes require a full server restart:
