SCUM Server Configuration Reference

The main configuration file is:

SCUM\Saved\Config\WindowsServer\ServerSettings.ini

This file is generated on first launch. Edit it with any text editor while the server is stopped.

Time and Environment

DayTimeSpeed=1.0
NightTimeSpeed=1.0
LootRespawnTime=30
VehicleRespawnTime=45
Key Default Description
DayTimeSpeed 1.0 Multiplier for daytime passage (higher = faster days)
NightTimeSpeed 1.0 Multiplier for nighttime passage
LootRespawnTime 30 Minutes before loot respawns in cleared areas
VehicleRespawnTime 45 Minutes before vehicles respawn

Loot Multipliers

LootAbundancy=1.0
LootDamageMultiplier=1.0

LootAbundancy controls how much loot spawns overall — 2.0 doubles loot density, 0.5 halves it.

Network and Ports

GamePort=7777
QueryPort=7779
MaxTickRate=30

These should match your firewall rules. MaxTickRate controls server update frequency — higher values increase CPU load.

RCON Settings

RCONEnabled=1
RCONPort=9999
RCONPassword=changeme

Always use a strong, unique RCON password. RCON allows remote server management from tools like mcrcon.

BattlEye Anti-Cheat

EnableBattleye=1

BattlEye is enabled by default. Disabling it (0) removes anti-cheat but may deter competitive players. Servers without BattlEye are marked separately in the browser.

Saving Changes

  1. Stop the SCUM server process.
  2. Edit and save ServerSettings.ini.
  3. Restart the server.

Changes do not apply to a running server. If the file reverts after saving, ensure the server is fully stopped before editing.
