Squad Server Configuration (Server.cfg)
Configure your Squad server by editing Server.cfg: server name, max players, reserved slots, team balance settings, and password. All files are in SquadGame/ServerConfig/.

Squad Server Configuration
Squad server settings live in the SquadGame/ServerConfig/ directory. Always stop the server before editing — changes may be overwritten if the server is running.

Create or edit SquadGame/ServerConfig/Rcon.cfg:

Motd.cfg — Message of the Day
Welcome to [ClanTag] Server!
Rules: No cheating, be respectful.

Each line of Motd.cfg appears as a separate line in the in-game MOTD.
License.cfg — Ranked Server License
To be listed in the official Squad server browser with ranked status, you must apply for a server license from Offworld Industries. Once approved, place the license key in:
SquadGame/ServerConfig/License.cfg
Unlicensed servers still appear in the unranked server browser section.
Applying Changes
Stop the server, edit the file, then restart:
sudo systemctl stop squad
nano /home/steam/squad/SquadGame/ServerConfig/Server.cfg
sudo systemctl start squad
