Trackmania Server Port Forwarding
Trackmania dedicated servers use three ports: 2350 (game), 3450 (P2P), and 5000 (XMLRPC). This guide covers firewall rules, router NAT configuration, and XMLRPC security best practices.
Trackmania Server Port Forwarding
Trackmania dedicated servers — whether TMNF, ManiaPlanet/TM2, or Trackmania 2020 — all use the same three ports.
Required Ports
| Port | Protocol | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| 2350 | TCP + UDP | Primary game traffic — players connect here |
| 3450 | TCP + UDP | Peer-to-peer (P2P) ghost/replay data |
| 5000 | TCP | XMLRPC admin interface (see note below) |
Security note on port 5000 (XMLRPC): Do not open port 5000 to the public internet. It is an unencrypted admin interface. If your XMLRPC controller (XASECO, PyPlanet, ManiaControl) runs on the same machine as the server, leave 5000 firewalled from the outside and allow only
localhostconnections. Open it only if your controller runs on a separate machine, and restrict access to that specific IP.
Multiple servers on one machine: Each additional instance uses the next available port trio (second server: 2351/3451/5001, and so on).
Linux Firewall (ufw)
# Game and P2P ports (public)
sudo ufw allow 2350/tcp
sudo ufw allow 2350/udp
sudo ufw allow 3450/tcp
sudo ufw allow 3450/udp
# XMLRPC — only open if your controller is on a separate machine
# (Otherwise leave closed and use localhost)
# sudo ufw allow from <controller-ip> to any port 5000 proto tcp
sudo ufw reload
Linux Firewall (iptables)
iptables -I INPUT -p tcp --dport 2350 -j ACCEPT
iptables -I INPUT -p udp --dport 2350 -j ACCEPT
iptables -I INPUT -p tcp --dport 3450 -j ACCEPT
iptables -I INPUT -p udp --dport 3450 -j ACCEPT
Windows Firewall
netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="Trackmania Game" dir=in action=allow protocol=TCP localport=2350
netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="Trackmania Game UDP" dir=in action=allow protocol=UDP localport=2350
netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="Trackmania P2P" dir=in action=allow protocol=TCP localport=3450
netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="Trackmania P2P UDP" dir=in action=allow protocol=UDP localport=3450
Router / NAT Port Forwarding
For home servers, add forwarding rules in your router admin panel pointing to the server's static LAN IP:
| External | Internal | Protocol | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2350 | 2350 | TCP + UDP | Game |
| 3450 | 3450 | TCP + UDP | P2P |
Verifying the Server Is Reachable
- Start the server.
- Open the Trackmania Nations Forever client.
- Go to Internet → Play and search for your server name.
- If it does not appear, allow 1–2 minutes for the Nadeo masterserver to register it.
If the server still doesn't appear, confirm port 2350 TCP is reachable from outside using a port-checking tool.
