Unturned Admin Management
Manage Unturned server admins using the Owner command in Commands.dat, the Adminlist.dat file, or runtime console commands. Includes admin command reference and how to whitelist players.
Unturned Admin Management
Unturned supports three methods for granting admin access. All use Steam64 IDs.
Finding a Steam64 ID
- Open the player's Steam profile in a browser.
- Right-click → View Page Source, then search for
steamid. - Or use steamid.io — paste the profile URL.
Steam64 IDs look like: 76561198012345678
Method 1: Owner (Commands.dat)
The Owner command grants full admin rights to exactly one Steam account:
Owner 76561198012345678
Add this to Servers/<ServerName>/Server/Commands.dat. Takes effect on next server restart. Only one Owner line is supported.
The owner can use all admin commands in-game and is immune to being kicked by other admins.
Method 2: Adminlist.dat (Persistent Multi-Admin)
For multiple admins, create or edit:
Servers/<ServerName>/Server/Adminlist.dat
Add one Steam64 ID per line:
76561198012345678
76561198087654321
76561198099999999
All listed players receive full admin permissions. Requires a server restart to take effect after editing.
Method 3: Runtime Console Command
While the server is running, type in the server console:
@admin 76561198012345678
This grants admin immediately without a restart. However, this permission does not persist across server restarts — add the Steam64 ID to Adminlist.dat for permanent access.
Revoking Admin Access
Via console (immediate, non-persistent):
@unadmin 76561198012345678
Permanently: Remove the Steam64 ID from Adminlist.dat and restart the server.
In-Game Admin Commands

Whitelist
To restrict the server to approved players only, add Whitelisted (no value) to Commands.dat:
Whitelisted
Then manage the whitelist at:
Servers/<ServerName>/Server/Whitelist.dat
One Steam64 ID per line. Add players while the server is running:
@permit 76561198012345678
Remove via:
@dismiss 76561198012345678
Ban List
Permanent bans are stored in:
Servers/<ServerName>/Server/Blacklist.dat
To ban permanently via console:
@ban 76561198012345678 0 cheating
The 0 duration means permanent. Manually add Steam64 IDs to Blacklist.dat to ban without the player ever connecting.
