7DTD Loot Stage Calculator
Loot Stage controls the quality of items found in containers — separate from Game Stage, which governs enemy difficulty. Enter your Game Stage, Lucky Looter rank, biome, and gear below to see your Loot Stage and expected item quality tier.
Formula: (GameStage + LuckyLooterBonus + GogglesBonus) × BiomeMultiplier — accurate for v2.5.

Biome Loot Stage Comparison
Same character (GS 100, Lucky Looter 0) in each biome — find out where to loot for the best gear.
| Biome | Multiplier | Loot Stage | Quality Tier |
|---|---|---|---|
| Forest(current) | ×0.9 | 90 | T3 — Steel / Advanced |
| Burnt Forest | ×1.0 | 100 | T3 — Steel / Advanced |
| Snow | ×1.1 | 110 | T3 — Steel / Advanced |
| Desert | ×1.2 | 120 | T3 — Steel / Advanced |
| Wasteland | ×1.5 | 150 | T3 — Steel / Advanced |
ⓘ Wasteland containers are the most dangerous but yield the highest Loot Stage. Forest is safest but rewards the least quality.

LootAbundance affects quantity — not quality
Setting LootAbundance to 200% in serverconfig.xml means more items will spawn in containers,
but it has no effect on their quality. Higher Loot Stage is the only way to get better-quality gear.
Don't confuse the two — they are completely independent mechanics.
Party looting rule: highest Loot Stage leads
When looting in a party, all members use the highest player's Loot Stage for every container that player opens. If your team has a designated looter with Lucky Looter 5 and you're in the Wasteland, have them open every container — their Loot Stage applies to the whole group.
Loot Stage vs. Game Stage — what's the difference?
Game Stage drives enemy difficulty — the zombies you face in hordes and on the map scale to it. Loot Stage is a separate value that controls container loot quality. They share your base Game Stage as input, but Lucky Looter perks, biome multipliers, and Lucky Goggles only affect Loot Stage — not how dangerous the world is.
