7DTD PvP Settings Optimizer
Choose a PvP profile and fine-tune land claim protection, drop-on-death rules, and safe zones. Every setting includes a plain-English explanation of its PvP impact, then output a ready-to-paste serverconfig.xml block.
PvP Profile
Player Killing
Controls who players can kill. Mode 3 (kill everyone) is standard for open PvP. Mode 0 disables player-vs-player entirely for PvE servers.
Land Claim Settings
LandClaimSize - diameter of the protected area (default 41). PvP servers use 7-21 to keep bases compact and raidable.
LandClaimDeadZone - minimum distance between two players' claims (default 30). Higher values reduce claim-spam griefing.
LandClaimExpiryTime - days before an inactive player's claim expires (default 3). Lower values let raiders claim abandoned bases sooner.
LandClaimDecayMode - 0 = Slow/Linear, 1 = Fast/Exponential, 2 = None. Affects how quickly protection degrades after expiry.
LandClaimOnlineDurabilityModifier - damage multiplier on claim blocks while owner is online. 0 = invincible (default 4).
LandClaimOfflineDurabilityModifier - damage multiplier on claim blocks while owner is offline. 0 = invincible (default 4).
How offline raid protection works
LandClaimOfflineDurabilityModifier = 0 means your base is INVINCIBLE when you are offline - no damage from players or zombies can destroy claim blocks. Setting it to 4 means players deal 4× normal damage to your base while you are offline, making offline raids faster and easier than online raids. Most competitive PvP servers set this between 4-8 to keep raiding viable but not instant.
Death & Loot Settings
DropOnDeath - what the killed player drops for their attacker to loot (default 0 = nothing).
DropOnQuit - what drops when a player rage-quits mid-fight. Setting this higher than DropOnDeath discourages combat-logging.
New Player Safe Zone
PlayerSafeZoneLevel - new players below this level cannot be killed by other players. Set 0 to disable entirely on full-PvP servers (default 5).
PlayerSafeZoneHours - hours of real time before the safe zone expires, regardless of level (default 5).
