CSS Net Settings Calculator
Counter-Strike: Source uses a different rate ecosystem than CS2. Pick your server tickrate and connection type to get the correct cl_updaterate, cl_cmdrate, rate, and cl_interp — then paste the block straight into your console or autoexec.cfg.
Server Tickrate
Most community servers run 66 tick. Valve servers run 33 tick. Competitive leagues typically use 100 tick.
Connection Type
Overrides the connection preset above. Leave blank to use the preset value.
Recommended Client Settings
cl_updaterate
66
cl_cmdrate
66
rate
25000
cl_interp
0.015152
Server-Side Ceilings (sv_max*)
sv_maxcmdrate
66
Must match or exceed your cl_cmdrate to avoid capping.
sv_maxupdaterate
66
Server sends at most this many updates per second — setting cl_updaterate higher wastes nothing.
sv_maxrate
25000
Typical for 66-tick servers. Your rate will be silently capped to this value.
What is LERP (interpolation)?
LERP smooths entity movement between server updates so motion doesn't look choppy.
cl_interp controls how far back (in seconds) the client
renders compared to the server clock. Lower is better on high-tick servers —
it reduces the gap between what you see and what the server computed.
For 66 tick, the ideal value is 0.015152
(1 / 66).
Console / autoexec.cfg Block
// CSS net settings — generated by DustBowl.Games // Tickrate: 66 | Connection: Cable cl_updaterate 66 cl_cmdrate 66 rate 25000 cl_interp 0.015152 cl_interp_ratio 1
Paste into the CSS developer console, or save to cfg/autoexec.cfg to apply on every launch.
