DayZ Day/Night Cycle Calculator
Two modes: enter your serverTimeAcceleration values to see real-time cycle durations,
or enter desired real-time durations and get the config values to paste into your serverDZ.cfg.

serverTimeAcceleration = 1.0; serverNightTimeAcceleration = 4.0;
Paste these lines into your serverDZ.cfg.
If serverNightTimeAcceleration is not set, the server uses
serverTimeAcceleration for both day and night.
How Time Acceleration Works
Each in-game day has 24 hours split evenly: 12 daytime hours (6:00–18:00) and 12 nighttime hours (18:00–6:00).
At acceleration 1.0, 1 real-time hour = 1 in-game hour. Each 12-hour phase takes 60 real minutes (full day = 2 hours).
Formula: real_minutes_per_phase = 720 / acceleration (720 min = 12 in-game hours at 1x).
Higher values = faster time. A value of 12 means each 12-hour phase takes only 5 real minutes.
| Acceleration | Phase (12h) | Full Day | Feel |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0.5 | 24 h | 48 h | Very slow — almost real-time |
| 1.0 | 12 h | 24 h | Real-time (default) |
| 2.0 | 6 h | 12 h | Moderate |
| 4.0 | 3 h | 6 h | Popular server setting |
| 6.0 | 2 h | 4 h | Fast days |
| 12.0 | 60 min | 2 h | Quick cycle |
| 24.0 | 30 min | 1 h | Very fast |
| 48.0 | 15 min | 30 min | Extremely fast |
