Foundry VTT Reverse Proxy Config

Generate a production-ready nginx or Caddy reverse proxy config for Foundry Virtual Tabletop. WebSocket support is included — it's required for the live tabletop connection.

Important Foundry VTT settings

  • Foundry VTT must have "Use SSL" disabled in its own settings when running behind a reverse proxy.
  • WebSocket support is required — ensure your proxy passes Upgrade headers (already included below).
  • Set proxySSL: true and proxyPort: 443 in Foundry's options.json if using an SSL proxy.
