Minecraft Whitelist JSON Generator
Paste Minecraft usernames (one per line) and get a ready-to-upload whitelist.json file. UUIDs auto-fetched from the official Mojang API.
0 usernames detected. Limit is 100 per run to respect Mojang's rate limits.
How it works
On a Minecraft Java Edition server, the whitelist is controlled by a file named
whitelist.json
in the server's root directory. To enable it, set
white-list=true
in server.properties
and restart the server.
The file is a JSON array of objects — each with a uuid
and a name field:
[
{
"uuid": "069a79f4-44e9-4726-a5be-fca90e38aaf5",
"name": "Notch"
}
]
Usernames change over time — Mojang allows players to rename their accounts — but a player's UUID is
permanent. That's why the whitelist uses UUIDs as the authoritative identifier and keeps the name only
as a human-readable hint. This tool queries the public Mojang endpoint
api.mojang.com/users/profiles/minecraft/{username}
for each line you paste, then emits the formatted JSON.
Mojang rate-limits their public API (roughly 600 requests every 10 minutes), so this tool caps each run at 100 usernames and spaces requests with a small delay. If you need to whitelist more players than that, run it in batches.
