Effective Loot Quality

With Normal loot (standard item chance), Loot respawn is disabled — each container can only be looted once. Players must explore further to find fresh supplies as the world depletes. All containers start with loot at world creation (FreshStart=true).

Category Loot Chances

Relative to Normal (100%) abundance. Actual item counts depend on container type and world RNG.

PZ Loot System Tips

How seen hours work

A zone only qualifies for loot respawn if no player has been in it for at least the "Seen Hours" duration. High seen-hours values mean loot only respawns in truly abandoned areas — great for immersion on large maps.

Abundance vs respawn

Abundance controls how much loot spawns per container. Respawn controls how often containers restock. On long-term servers, combine Abundant with 72-168h respawn for a healthy economy without making loot too scarce.

Loot Spawn Area

MaxItemsForLootRespawn (1–30) sets how many containers are restocked per respawn pass. Lower values = slower restock throughput even if the timer triggers. Default is 4.

No-respawn survival

Setting HoursForLootRespawn=0 creates a finite-resource world — players must scavenge further afield as nearby loot depletes. This is the classic PZ experience and pairs well with Normal or Abundant abundance.
