Heads up: Store RCON passwords in a password manager (Bitwarden, 1Password, Vaultwarden). Never commit them to git or paste them in Discord. Rotate them when an operator leaves your team.

How it works

Passwords are generated using System.Security.Cryptography.RandomNumberGenerator.GetInt32 with rejection sampling to eliminate modulo bias. Each character is selected with true uniform probability from your selected alphabet.

Entropy (in bits) = length × log₂(alphabet size). More bits = exponentially harder to brute force. 80+ bits is considered strong for most purposes; 100+ is excellent.

We recommend 24+ characters with all sets enabled for RCON. That's ~150 bits of entropy — unguessable within the lifetime of the universe at current compute.
