Rust+ Companion App Setup Wizard

Configure the Rust+ companion app on your dedicated server. Enter your server's IP and port to generate the server.cfg lines, firewall rules, and a verification checklist.

Server Details

Server Public IP

App Port Valid (>= 10000)

Default: 28016. Must be TCP and >= 10000.

Multi-NIC server

Show app.listenip configuration

Step 1 — server.cfg Lines

Add these to your server.cfg

app.port 28016

Step 2 — Firewall Rules

Port must be opened as TCP

Linux (ufw):

sudo ufw allow 28016/tcp

Linux (iptables):

sudo iptables -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 28016 -j ACCEPT

Port 28016 must be opened as TCP only. UDP is not used by the Rust+ companion app.

Step 3 — Verify

After restarting the server, run this RCON command to verify Rust+ is running:

app.info
