Soulmask RCON & Permission Manager
Understand Soulmask's three-layer admin access model, configure RCON and EchoPort, generate Engine.ini IP whitelists, and reference permission management commands.
Three-Layer Access Priority
Startup Parameters (highest priority)
Flags like -rconpsw, -adminpsw, -rconport passed on server launch. Override everything below.
Engine.ini
IP whitelisting via [Server.SafeIP]. Controls which IPs can connect to RCON/EchoPort. Overrides GameXishu.json.
GameXishu.json (lowest priority)
Runtime permission list configuration. Can be modified in-game via GM commands.
RCON & EchoPort Setup
RCON (Remote Admin)
Add to your startup command:
- Protocol: TCP
- Default port: 19000
- Note: Soulmask uses a non-standard RCON protocol — standard RCON clients may not be compatible. Use a Soulmask-aware RCON tool.
EchoPort (Telnet/Debug)
Add to your startup command:
- Protocol: TCP
- Default port: 18888
- Binds to localhost by default — external access requires Engine.ini IP whitelist or firewall rule
Engine.ini IP Whitelist Generator
Enter the IP addresses that should be allowed to connect to RCON and EchoPort. One per line.
Always include 127.0.0.1 (localhost) if managing from the server itself.
Generated Engine.ini Block
Paste into Saved/Config/WindowsServer/Engine.ini (Windows) or Saved/Config/LinuxServer/Engine.ini (Linux).
-serverpm Bitmask
The -serverpm=MASK startup flag controls which permission list modes are active. This flag is poorly documented — common values below.
| Value | Behavior |
|---|---|
| 0 | No permission restrictions — all players may join (default open server) |
| 1 | Whitelist mode — only players on the permission list can join |
| 2 | Blacklist mode — players on the list are banned from joining |
| 3 | Both whitelist and blacklist active (ban overrides whitelist) |
Example: -serverpm=1 enables whitelist mode. Manage the list in-game with GM commands.
Permission List Commands
Use these GM console commands (requires admin authentication with gm key [adminpsw]) to manage the server permission list at runtime.
gm AddServerPermissionList [steamid]
Add a Steam ID or IP to the server permission list (whitelist/blacklist depending on -serverpm mode)
gm RemoveServerPermissionList [steamid]
Remove a Steam ID or IP from the permission list
gm EnableServerPermissionList
Activate enforcement of the permission list
gm ClearServerPermissionList
Remove all entries from the permission list
Run your own Soulmask server.
Rent a private Soulmask server on real hardware — full control-panel access, your mods, your configs, your rules. It's your server; run it your way.
Don't want to run it yourself? Our managed services & consulting team will set it up and keep it running for you — game servers, Windows, Linux, and cloud, from 10+ years of MSP work.
