TeamSpeak SRV Record Generator

Let users connect to your TeamSpeak 3 server using just ts.yourdomain.com — no port required. Generate the DNS records below and paste them into your DNS provider.

How TeamSpeak SRV records work

SRV (Service) records map a service/protocol pair to a hostname and port. When a TeamSpeak 3 client tries to connect to ts.example.com, it queries _ts3._udp.ts.example.com first. If an SRV record is returned, the client uses the target/port from that record.

If there is no SRV record, the client falls back to connecting to the hostname directly on port 9987 (the default voice port).

Priority and Weight only matter for failover between multiple servers. For a single TeamSpeak instance, 0 and 5 are conventional defaults.

The port in the panel (like wisp.gg) is listed under the server's Network or Allocations tab — usually a 5-digit UDP port like 30015.

Query port and file transfer port (optional)

TeamSpeak uses three ports, but only the voice port needs an SRV record:

  • Voice (UDP, default 9987) — what this tool generates. Required for users to connect.
  • Query (TCP, default 10011) — ServerQuery admin protocol. Only needed for external admin tools. No SRV record required.
  • File transfer (TCP, default 30033) — for channel file uploads. No SRV record required.

If you want Query and File Transfer to go through your domain too, add additional A records for them — but SRV is only a thing for the voice port.
