Trackmania Server Ports & Firewall
Every Trackmania dedicated server uses three port ranges. Miss one and players will fail to connect or controller software will time out. This reference covers defaults, protocols, and the common XMLRPC port conflict gotcha.
Required Ports
| Port | Protocol | Purpose | Required? |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2350 | TCP + UDP | Game traffic — player connections | Yes |
| 3450 | TCP + UDP | Peer-to-peer — map downloads, replays | Yes |
| 5000 | TCP only | XMLRPC controller (default — see gotcha) | Only if using controller |
| 5001 | TCP only | XMLRPC controller — recommended alternative | Only if using controller |
XMLRPC Port 5000 Conflict
The game server process can claim port 5000 internally, preventing
controller software (PyPlanet, ManiaControl, etc.) from binding to it.
Always set xmlrpc_port to 5001 (or any
unused port above 1024) in dedicated_cfg.txt and configure
your controller to match.
Inbound vs. Outbound
- •2350 and 3450 — open both inbound and outbound on TCP and UDP. Players connect inbound; the server also initiates outbound connections to master servers and peers.
- •5001 (XMLRPC) — open inbound on TCP only if your controller runs on a different machine. If controller and server share a host,
xmlrpc_allowremote False(default) is fine and you do not need to open this port at the network level.

Dedicated Server Account
Trackmania dedicated servers require a separate dedicated server account created at trackmania.com. Your personal player account is not used to run the server.
- Log in to trackmania.com with your Ubisoft account
- Navigate to Play → Dedicated Servers
- Create a new server login — this produces the credentials for
masterserver_accountindedicated_cfg.txt - Only the server owner needs a Club Access subscription — players connecting do not
