How Valheim Damage Reduction Works
Valheim uses a piecewise formula — armor matters more as it increases:
- If armor < damage / 2: damage taken = damage − armor
- If armor ≥ damage / 2: damage taken = damage² / (4 × armor)
This means doubling your armor more than doubles your effective HP when your armor is already high relative to incoming damage.
