Overview

ARK uses a two-step admin system: first you authenticate with a password or whitelist, then you prefix every cheat command with cheat. Admin commands only affect your own player unless they target others by name or ID.

Method 1: Admin Password (Quickest)

Step 1: Set an admin password

  1. In your AMP or WISP panel, open your ARK server's Configuration
  2. Find Admin Password and set something strong
  3. Save and reboot

Step 2: Authenticate in-game

  1. Join your server
  2. Press TAB to open the console
  3. Type:
enablecheats YourAdminPassword
  1. Press Enter — you're authenticated as admin for this session

Step 3: Use commands

Prefix every command with cheat:

cheat fly
cheat god
cheat teleport

Note: You must re-authenticate with enablecheats each time you join the server. For permanent access, use Method 2.

Method 2: SteamID Whitelist (Permanent Admin)

Prefer not to type your password every session? This approach bypasses the auth step entirely for anyone on the list:

  1. Get your SteamID64 — that's the 17-digit number from steamid.io or our SteamID Converter tool
  2. In your AMP or WISP panel, open the File Manager
  3. Navigate to ShooterGame/Saved/
  4. Create a new text file named AllowedCheaterSteamIDs.txt (one per line, no spaces):
76561198012345678
76561198087654321
  1. Save the file and restart the server from the panel

From that point on, any Steam account in the list can run admin commands as soon as they connect — no enablecheats needed.
