Map Selection: Exiled Lands, Siptah, and Savage Wilds
How to configure which map your Conan Exiles server runs, switch between maps, and manage per-map save databases.
Available Maps
Conan Exiles supports multiple maps, each with its own world state and save database:
| Map | Type | Server Map Path |
|---|---|---|
| Exiled Lands | Base game | /Game/ConanSandbox/Maps/ConanSandbox_Terrain |
| Isle of Siptah | DLC | /Game/DLC_EXT/DLC_Siptah/Maps/DLC_Isle_of_Siptah |
| Savage Wilds | Workshop mod | Steam Workshop ID 2377569193 |
Setting the Active Map
The map is set via the ServerDefaultMap entry in Engine.ini or as a startup command line argument.
In Engine.ini:
[/Script/EngineSettings.GeneralProjectSettings]
ServerDefaultMap=/Game/ConanSandbox/Maps/ConanSandbox_Terrain
Alternatively, pass the map path directly in the startup command:
ConanSandboxServer-Win64-Shipping.exe /Game/ConanSandbox/Maps/ConanSandbox_Terrain -log
For Isle of Siptah:
ConanSandboxServer-Win64-Shipping.exe /Game/DLC_EXT/DLC_Siptah/Maps/DLC_Isle_of_Siptah -log
Per-Map Save Databases
Each map writes to its own save file:
ConanSandbox/Saved/game.db # Exiled Lands
ConanSandbox/Saved/DLC_Siptah.db # Isle of Siptah
Savage Wilds (mod map) uses its own save file as defined by the mod — check the mod documentation for the exact filename.
Switching maps does not delete or overwrite the other map's database. Progress on each map is preserved independently when you switch back.
Switching Maps
- Stop the server.
- Update
ServerDefaultMapinEngine.inito the target map path, or update the startup argument in the panel. - Start the server.
The server will load the corresponding save database for the selected map. If no save exists for that map yet, a fresh world is generated.
Isle of Siptah Requirements
Isle of Siptah is paid DLC. For the server:
- The server itself does not require a separate DLC license — the DLC map files are included in the dedicated server install (App ID
443030). - Players connecting must own Isle of Siptah DLC on their Steam account to join a Siptah server.
Savage Wilds Setup
Savage Wilds is a Workshop mod map. In addition to the map path, you must:
- Download the Savage Wilds
.pakfile (Workshop ID2377569193). - Place it in
ConanSandbox/Mods/. - Add it to
modlist.txt:*Savage_Wilds.pak - Set the map path in
Engine.inito the map path specified in the Savage Wilds mod documentation (refer to the mod's Steam Workshop page for the exact path, as it may differ from base maps).
Savage Wilds uses its own .db file. Back it up before removing the mod.
Running Multiple Maps
You cannot run multiple maps on a single server instance. To offer players multiple map choices, run separate server instances, each configured for a different map, on different port sets.
