Play All 24 Rounds in CS2 (mp_match_can_clinch)
Force your CS2 server to play all 24 rounds regardless of match score using mp_match_can_clinch 0. Two methods: via the MatchZy plugin (.playout) or by manually editing the competitive server config.
What Is mp_match_can_clinch?
By default, CS2 competitive matches end when one team reaches 13 rounds (clinch win condition). Setting mp_match_can_clinch 0 disables the clinch — both teams play all 24 rounds before the winner is declared by total rounds won.
This is common for:
- Practice scrims where you want data from all rounds
- Tournament formats requiring full matches
- Analyzing team performance across a complete game
Method 1: MatchZy Plugin (Recommended)
If you have MatchZy installed:
- Join the server with admin permissions
- Type in chat:
.playout
MatchZy enables mp_match_can_clinch 0 for the current match. No server restart needed.
Method 2: Manual Config Edit
If you're not using MatchZy (or want it set permanently):
- In your AMP or WISP panel, open File Manager
- Navigate to the
cfg/folder - Open
gamemode_competitive_server.cfg(create it if it doesn't exist) - Add this line:
mp_match_can_clinch 0
- Save and restart the server
The setting applies to every competitive match on this server until you remove it.
Reverting
To go back to standard clinch behavior, remove the line from the config (or set it to 1), then reboot. In MatchZy, type .playout again to toggle it back, or type .unplayout if the plugin supports it.
Plugin Compatibility Note
If you're using another match management plugin (not MatchZy), check that plugin's documentation before editing the config directly — some plugins override the config on match start and your manual setting may be ignored.
