Operation: Harsh Doorstop Server Maps

OHD ships with maps across four eras — WWI, WWII, Vietnam, and Modern. Here's the full map list, how to set a map at startup, and how to configure a map rotation.

Official Maps

Map Name Era
AAS-TestMap Test / Default
AAS-Argonne WWI
AAS-SaintQuentin WWI
AAS-Carentan WWII
AAS-MonteCassino WWII
AAS-OmahaBeach WWII
AAS-LamDong Vietnam
AAS-TanBinh Vietnam
AAS-Khafji Gulf War
AAS-Risala Modern

Map names are case-sensitive in the bat file and in admin commands. AAS-Carentan works; aas-carentan does not.

Setting the Starting Map

The map is the first argument after the executable in your bat file:

HarshDoorstopServer-Win64-Shipping.exe AAS-Carentan?MaxPlayers=32 -log -SteamServerName="WW2 Server"

The server loads this map on startup. When a match ends, the server either reloads the same map or advances to the next entry in your map cycle file.

Map Rotation with Mapcycle.cfg

To cycle through multiple maps automatically, create HarshDoorstop/Saved/Config/Mapcycle.cfg (the path is relative to your server install root). Add one map name per line:

AAS-Carentan
AAS-MonteCassino
AAS-OmahaBeach
AAS-Argonne
AAS-SaintQuentin

The server progresses through this list from top to bottom and loops back to the start. Mapcycle.cfg persists across server restarts and does not reset like Game.ini can.

Changing Maps In-Game via Admin Command

If you're an admin in-game or connected via RCON, change the map immediately with:

admin servertravel AAS-Risala

Or the alternate form:

admin changelevel AAS-Risala

Both commands trigger an immediate map change without waiting for the current match to end. Use the exact map name from the table above.

Custom Maps via Steam Workshop

Community-made maps are available through the Steam Workshop. To use them:

  1. Subscribe to the map mod on Steam Workshop.
  2. The mod's map name will be documented on its Workshop page — use that name in your bat file or Mapcycle.cfg.
  3. Both server and connecting clients need the Workshop mod installed.

Workshop maps follow the same AAS-MapName naming convention as official maps but with custom identifiers set by the mod author.
