Palworld Base Camp Workers (BaseCampWorkerMaxNum)
Palworld dedicated servers lock base camp workers at 15 by default. Increase BaseCampWorkerMaxNum up to a maximum of 20 through the server settings panel — no config file editing required.
What Is BaseCampWorkerMaxNum?
In Palworld, base camp workers are the Pals assigned to work at your base — gathering, crafting, farming, and maintaining structures. On dedicated servers, this number is locked at 15 by default (unlike single-player/co-op where it can be higher).
The BaseCampWorkerMaxNum setting lets you raise this cap on your server.
How to Change It
In your AMP or WISP panel, open your Palworld server's Configuration settings:
- Search for "basecamp" to filter to the relevant setting
- Find BaseCampWorkerMaxNum and set your desired value
- Save and reboot
Maximum value: The highest supported value is 20. Setting it above 20 is not recommended and may cause unexpected behaviour.
Recommended Values
| Value | Use Case |
|---|---|
15 |
Default — vanilla dedicated server experience |
20 |
Maximum — for servers where automation and base efficiency are a priority |
Performance Consideration
Each base camp worker is a simulated Pal — they run AI, pathfinding, and task logic every game tick. Increasing from 15 to 20 per base adds more simulation load per active base on the server.
If your server has many active bases (multiple guilds, each with large camps), consider whether the extra 5 workers per camp is worth the CPU overhead. On servers already experiencing lag, keeping the default of 15 is advisable.
