CS2 Server Location Options
Move your CS2 server to a different datacenter in seconds. Available locations across Europe, North America, and the rest of the world — and what to know about Workshop maps during location transfers.
Available Server Locations
DustBowl.Games CS2 servers are available across multiple regions. When you order or in your panel, you'll see the full current list of available locations — we add new datacenters regularly.
Current regions covered:
- Europe — multiple locations including Western, Northern, and Eastern Europe
- North America — East Coast, West Coast, and Central US; Canada
- Rest of World — Australia, South America, Asia, Middle East, Africa
Check your AMP or WISP panel for the definitive up-to-date location list when placing your order or migrating.
How to Change Your Server's Location
AMP: Go to your CS2 instance settings, find the Server Location or Datacenter option, select the new location, and restart.
WISP / Pterodactyl: Location changes are typically handled through the billing panel or by opening a support ticket in our Discord — reach out and we'll migrate you.
Migration is fast — usually under a minute. Larger servers with lots of Workshop maps may take a bit longer on first boot.
Choosing the Right Location
Pick whatever puts the server geographically closest to your group. Closer = lower round-trip time = snappier gameplay.
Rough targets:
- < 30ms — LAN-level, unnoticeable
- 30–70ms — Competitive-quality
- 70–100ms — Playable for casual
- > 100ms — Worth trying a closer region
ISP routing is never guaranteed — a location that looks farther on a map can be faster for a specific ISP due to how BGP peering works. If you're on the edge between two regions, test both.
Workshop Maps and Location Changes
Workshop maps are re-downloaded from Steam after a location switch — they don't move with the server. First boot at the new location may take a few extra minutes if you have a large Workshop collection. After that, maps are cached and startup is normal.
