NMRiH Game Modes
No More Room in Hell has two distinct cooperative game modes. The map filename prefix determines which mode is active — the server does not have a separate mode switch.
Objective Mode (nmo_ prefix)
Players work together to complete a series of objectives — finding items, reaching extraction points, or surviving scripted events — in order to escape the map. Up to 8 players. Communication and cooperation are required; maps have win conditions that only trigger when objectives are met.
Survival Mode (nms_ prefix)
Players hold out against endless waves of zombies for as long as possible. There is no win condition — the match ends when all players are dead. Up to 8 players. Score is based on survival time and kills.
Setting the Starting Map
Specify the initial map on the server launch command line:
# Objective map
./srcds_run -console -game nmrih -maxplayers 8 +map nmo_broadway +sv_setsteamaccount YOUR_TOKEN
# Survival map
./srcds_run -console -game nmrih -maxplayers 8 +map nms_northway +sv_setsteamaccount YOUR_TOKEN
You can mix objective and survival maps in the same rotation — the mode switches automatically based on the map prefix.

Map Rotation
Map rotation is controlled by nmrih/cfg/mapcycle.txt. The server advances to the next map in the file when mp_timelimit expires. See the mapcycle guide for configuration details.
To change maps without waiting for the time limit:
changelevel nmo_broadway // changes map; players stay connected
map nmo_broadway // changes map; disconnects all players
Use changelevel for smooth mid-game transitions. Use map when you need a clean restart of the map (all player data resets).
