Palworld Common Connection Issues
Fix the most common Palworld connection problems: infinite loading screen, wrong IP address, DNS propagation delays for custom domains, and VPN interference. Most issues resolve with a server restart.

First: Reboot the Server
Nine times out of ten, Palworld connection problems clear up after a server reboot. Infinite loading screens, failed join attempts, phantom disconnects — restart from your AMP or WISP panel first, then try connecting again before troubleshooting anything else.
Infinite Loading Screen
This is a known Palworld issue that persists even on fully healthy servers. Steps to resolve:
- Verify game file integrity — In Steam, right-click Palworld → Properties → Installed Files → Verify integrity
- Restart the game completely and try connecting again
- Reboot the server — even a healthy server can get into a state that causes this
- If it persists after all three steps, check the Palworld Discord and the game's Steam page for known issues with the current patch
"Connection Failed" or Server Not Responding
Check your connection details:
- Are you using the correct IP and port? The game port defaults to 8211 — make sure you haven't entered the RCON port
- Copy the IP fresh from your control panel rather than typing it manually
Is the server still starting?
- Newly created servers or servers after a reboot can take 2–5 minutes before accepting connections
- Watch the server console in your panel for the "Server started" message before trying to connect
VPN interference:
- If you're using a VPN, the server's firewall may block your connection
- Disable your VPN and try connecting directly — if it works, configure a VPN split-tunnel exception for Palworld
Custom Domain / DNS Issues
If you're connecting via a custom domain (e.g. play.myserver.com) instead of a raw IP:
- DNS records don't go live instantly — allow at least a few minutes, and in stubborn cases up to an hour depending on your DNS provider and TTL setting
- While DNS is propagating, bypass it entirely by connecting to the raw IP shown in your panel
- Once propagation finishes, the domain will work reliably
Server Shows Online But Players Can't Join
- Check the player slot limit in your server settings — if the server is full, new connections will be refused
- Confirm the server password if one is set — players entering the wrong password get a connection failure, not a "wrong password" message
- Check whether the server has Exclusive Join or a whitelist enabled
