How to Set Up Admin Access on Your V Rising Server
Add your SteamID64 to adminlist.txt to unlock the in-game admin console, then use it to manage players, teleport, and give items.
How Admin Access Works
V Rising uses a simple text file to control who has admin privileges. Any SteamID64 listed in adminlist.txt will have access to the in-game admin console after the server is restarted. There's no in-game UI to grant admin — it's all done through the file.
The file lives at:
VRisingServer_Data/StreamingAssets/Settings/adminlist.txt
Finding Your SteamID64
Your SteamID64 is a 17-digit number that uniquely identifies your Steam account. A few ways to find it:
- Go to steamid.io and enter your Steam profile URL or username
- In Steam, go to your profile page — if you haven't set a custom URL, the number at the end of the URL is your SteamID64
- Launch the server, join it, and use the
listcommand in the server console — it will show player names and their SteamID64s
A SteamID64 looks like: 76561198012345678
Adding Admins
- Stop your server
- Open the file manager and navigate to
VRisingServer_Data/StreamingAssets/Settings/ - Open
adminlist.txt - Add one SteamID64 per line:
76561198012345678
76561198087654321
- Save the file and start the server
You can add yourself before your first login — the server doesn't need you to be online to update the list. Changes take effect on the next server restart.
Accessing the Admin Console In-Game
Once you're listed in adminlist.txt and the server has restarted:
- Join the server
- Open the console by pressing the backtick key (
`) — on some keyboard layouts this may be a different key - Alternatively, open the game menu and look for the Admin section
- Type
adminauthand press Enter to authenticate your session
You'll see a confirmation message when admin mode is active.
Essential Admin Commands
Here are the commands you'll use most often:

admindeauth |
Revoke your admin status for this session |

unban [SteamID64] |

setadminlevel [player] [level] |

Player names are case-sensitive and must match exactly as shown in the list output. If a player name has spaces, try using their SteamID64 instead where the command supports it.
Revoking Admin Access
To remove someone's admin access, stop the server, delete their SteamID64 from adminlist.txt, and restart. They won't be able to use adminauth on the next login.
