Server Icon Requirements

The server icon is displayed next to your server entry in the Minecraft multiplayer server list:

  • Dimensions: Exactly 64×64 pixels (clients will ignore any file that is not exactly 64x64).
  • Format: PNG format (.png).
  • File Name: Named exactly server-icon.png (case-sensitive).
  • Location: Placed in the server root directory alongside server.properties.

Uploading Your Icon in DustBowl Warden

  1. Create or export your 64×64 PNG image in an image editor (such as GIMP, Photoshop, Paint.NET, or Canva).
  2. Log in to DustBowl Warden (https://warden.dustbowl.games) and open your server.
  3. In the left navigation menu, click File Manager.
  4. In the server root directory, drag and drop server-icon.png into the browser window, or click Upload.
  5. If an old server-icon.png is present, overwrite it.
  6. In the Console tab, restart your server.
  7. In the Minecraft multiplayer menu, click Refresh. Your custom logo will appear immediately.

Formatting the MOTD (Message of the Day)

The MOTD is the two-line server description displayed under your server name in the multiplayer browser. It is controlled by the motd directive in server.properties.

Tip

Use our free Minecraft MOTD Generator to preview formatting, hex colors, bold text, and line wrapping in real time.
